Andre' " SaxManDre" Cotman is a Smooth Jazz & Saxophonist making music that speaks to the heart and sooths the soul.  Unusual, eclectic, smooth, soothing, are all words that have been used to describe his style on the horn.  

A native of Newport News, Virginia, Andre' first picked up the saxophone at age of 11 and has been playing ever since. A lover of various styles of music, including Contemporary Jazz, and Lounge, Andre' fuses these genres in a unique way that's guaranteed to captivate your ears.

Through the years, Andre' has performed at a variety of venues in and around the Hampton Roads Area, including opening up for popular Christian singer Vicki Winans (2005) and Fred Hammond (2007) as a member of the Hampton Roads Jazz Band, Oasis of Jazz Band. He has also been featured as a guest artist on Local News Station Wavy TV 10's Spread A Little Sunshine.

Currently, Andre' performs as a soloist for a variety of public and private events in and around Hampton Roads, or wherever there is a place to play music.  He is also a saxophonist for Oasis of Jazz Band and a member of the horn line at Bethel Temple Church in Hampton, Virginia.

Andre' is currently producing his debut solo album entitled Timeless and a Tribute album to his Biggest  Musical Influence, SADE.   Samples from both CD's are posted in the Sax Sounds section of this website.

Andre's influences and artist favorites include performers such as: Sade, Seal, Jeff Lorber,  Keiko Matsui, Bebel Gilberto, Dzihan and Kamien, Lisa Shaw, Les Nubians, Boney James, Chris Botti, and Diana Krall.
